Wet scrubbers
A wet scrubber is an efficient contact device between gases and liquids, which can be used in several applications. The construction of each scrubber varies according to the application.
- simple spray scrubber: this scrubber is an efficient cooler or evaporator.
- fixed bed scrubber: the contact between gas and liquid takes place on the surface of the packed bed in the fixed bed scrubber. The scrubber efficiently removes dust particles as small as ~1 μm. In a fixed bed scrubber, a counter current operation is natural, resulting in many cases in more effective heat transfer and chemical operations.
We use spray scrubbers for quenching.
Fixed bed scrubbers are used for dust removal, gas chemical cleaning, stripping of gas components from water streams, and humidification/evaporation. When water vapour is condensed from a gas stream in a fixed bed scrubber, the scrubber recovers heat. The main application for condensing heat recovery is a flue gas condenser. In all applications the fixed bed scrubber is similar; the objective is achieved by the process circumstances and material flows. As a contact device a fixed bed scrubber is easy and with correct design very effective and economical.
We deliver gas scrubbers for any application and capacity.
